Good Friday Club Dive - 3rd April 2015
Despite it being cold, overcast and a bit drizzly, we had a good turnout of divers ready to brave the rather chilly water at Gildenburgh Dive Centre. Once again this year, extra members provided shore cover with welcoming hot cross buns, sausage plait and warm drinks, visited regularly of course by the curious geese.
After kitting up, completing buddy checks and logging their dive plans it was time for everyone's first dive. Visibility was quite good and the resident Pike decided to play hide and seek with a couple of the divers from inside the bus. Average dive time was 35-45 minutes, and congratulations to one of our Ocean diver trainees who ventured into the water for his very first Open Water Dive.
Normally this would have been a planned family day, with a picnic, deckchairs and gazebo, but the weather just didn't allow it this time. So we have that to look forward to another weekend when the temperatures increases a little. Roll on Summer!
